An amazing journey through the rich traditions of Bulgarian music and culture.
Experience the spirited, yet haunting sounds of the Bulgarian vocal tradition from trio Zhiva Voda with renowned singers Reni Pavlova-Bojilov and Ann Bermingham accompanied by George Gaydov on gaida and gudoulka and special guest guitarist Ewan Mackenzie. Plus gorgeous Bulgarian costumes, traditional dance and heavenly Bulgarian food.. There will even be a Bulgarian dance workshop during the interval and plenty of opportunity to practise your newly acquired skills after the show!
Zhiva Voda means living, magic waters. Experience the spirited, yet haunting sounds of the Bulgarian vocal tradition, expressed with powerful soaring solos and spine- tingling harmonies. The performance includes traditional instruments, the gaida (bagpipes) and gadulka (stringed, violin like instrument) echoing an experience of vibrant life and deep yearning.
