Shen's News: I have lots of exciting news this week. First up, the Inaugural Ashu Babu Memorial Tabla School Concert was a big success. All the kids played so well and there was a wonderful atmosphere of love and happiness. Full report and photos here.
Secondly, Tibet2Timbuk2's Crane Song WON the 2008 QSong World Music Award on Tuesday night!!! This is great recognition for a great combo, not to mention the handy cash prize. Please set aside Nov 15/16 in your diaries for our CD launch at the Powerhouse.
As I'm leaving for Japan next Thursday, I don't have any gigs here until November (apart from 10am-12 Friday in the Qld Govt Pavilion at the Ekka with Tenzin). But I'll try to keep you posted on what's happening around town in the world music scene.
