EthnoSuperLounge: This Saturday! Amazing Butoh, Odissi Dance events

Hi folks,

There are some special dance events going on in Brisbane this weekend. This Saturday afternoon, Yuki and Megan are presenting their last BUTOH and Oki-do Workshop of the year at our studio in Oxley, and this time I'll be providing some live music on... piano! Yes I've been practising lots of classical and some jazz piano pieces in the last couple of months, so let's see what happens...

Then on Saturday night there is the first performance at the new QLD Multicultural Centre in Kangaroo Point, entitled "Intensely Soul - Transformational Odissi Dance". Odissi dance is my favourite form of Indian classical dance, very beautiful and feminine, so I highly recommend this concert and the workshop the following morning. I'm attaching the event flier to this email.

Coming up, I'll be hosting some great Indian classical musicians at our home in Oxley - senior student of sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Sri Steve Oda, with student of tabla master Ustad Zakir Hussain, Sri Ty Burhoe. These are big names and along with that goes genuine quality musicianship and devotion. I highly recommend their early afternoon concert on Saturday Nov 2. Then through November and December we're all looking forward to some classical and collaborative concerts with bansuri master Sri Taro Terahara.
