Barb Dwyer – Mistress of the Hurdy Gurdy. Barb Plays hurdy gurdy, sings and plays accordion with her new band “Barb Dwyer and the Prisoner’s of Gurdy”. With George Urbaszek on Double Bass, Claire Yerbury on Cello, Alex O’Reilly on drums, they create an ambience of a string quartet with the wacky presence of the crazy Hurdy Gurdy, and a rhythm section. Barb Dwyer and the Prisoner’s of Gurdy play new arrangements of traditional folk music from France, Spain, Georgia, Gypsy music from Romania and compelling originals. Original compositions range from B-Grade horror soundtrack, to new classical/avant garde, circus and soooo much more.
